Housing Estates: Palm Tree Court

Envirowork Lewisham’s NDC contract includes estate garden clearances. Some estate gardens have been unmanaged for years and become overgrown with local rubbish strewn amongst the vegetation with some evidence of other antisocial behaviour. The changes make a real quality of life difference to locals ands open up opportunities for community activity and cohesion.

Palm Tree Court back overgrown gardens before clearance of bramble, elder, buddleia, rubbish, nappies, beer cans which had been thrown from the balconies.
The gardens during tidying up. When finished they could be used by locals to grow vegetables or flowers as the soil was excellent quality for horticulture.
