Lewisham’s NDC contract includes open space restoration and improvements
for the public to design out crime by improving sight lines and removing
hiding places.
A
folly by Hornshay Street was a haven for antisocial behaviour. Filling
with rubble did not solve the problem so reluctantly the building had
to be removed.
Trainees
towards the end of the demolition. The site was made good and the rubble
skipped. The locals were very pleased that the short cut had been made
safe.
