Lewisham’s NDC contract includes open space restoration to provide
relaxing retreats for the local community to escape from the busy roads.
An
abandoned and overgrown space was set upon by a team of Trainees in
the height of the summer. Neighbours helped with jugs of cool squash.
Trainees
towards the end of the restoration, the site has since been turfed and
made into a secluded garden oasis just off a busy main road for the
local community.
