Nature reserves: Woodland Walk

Working in partnership with the Friends of Downham Woodland Walk, Glendale and Lewisham Council, with funding provided by Living Spaces, Envirowork were responsible for regenerating part of the Downham Woodland Walk which had become overgrown and had suffered from constant vandalism. Work involved improving pedestrian access and wildlife habitats by clearing overgrown areas of snowberry and other invasive species, removing vandalised benches and wood sculptures and removing dead trees. Pathways were re-defined, new green oak benches made by Envirowork trainees installed and fences and railings repainted. The project took three months and has greatly enhanced the environment for users of the walk.
